From the French Riviera to the Balearics, summer 2026 is shaping up to be the best yet for empty leg availability. Here are the routes worth watching.
Summer in Europe means peak charter season — and peak charter season means more empty legs. As operators shuttle high-net-worth clients between their Mediterranean playgrounds, positioning flights multiply. If you know where to look, the savings can be significant.
London to Ibiza is the most reliably available route of the summer. Operators flying clients out for the weekend frequently need to bring aircraft back on Sunday evening, or reposition ahead of Monday departures. Light jets on this route regularly list for under €7,000.
Nice to Mykonos emerges every July and August as private aviation's most-wanted pairing. Charters between the two hubs generate a steady flow of return empty legs throughout the season. Midsize jets are common on this route and often come in well under €10,000.
Geneva to Cannes is a short hop that sees significant traffic during film festivals, racing events, and the broader summer social calendar. Pilatus PC-12s and Citation XLS aircraft are frequently available, with pricing often below €4,000.
Amsterdam to Ibiza picks up from June onwards as the festival season gets underway. With multiple operators basing aircraft out of AMS for summer positioning, empty leg availability is high and competition keeps prices sharp.
Dubai to Farnborough is the wildcard. As Middle Eastern clients prepare for the European summer, repositioning flights from DWC or DXB to UK FBOs are a reliable source of Ultra Long Range empty legs — occasionally listing for under €20,000 for a 14-seat aircraft.
